For some reason, I always thought I wasn’t a morning person! Well, I am!

Surprisingly, mornings are turning out to be my favorite time of the day.

Currently, I wake up slightly before 6 AM. This allows me to have my “me time” before my toddler wakes up.

My morning routine gives apple time to focus on my blog goals, practice a self-care routine as I reflect on my life.

Also, I  realized the way I  start my day will determine how the rest of the day goes. It’s therefore important to start the day on a positive note for a great day ahead.

Without further ado, there is a list of simple things you should start doing in the morning for a positivity-filled day.

Make The Bed 

This is the first thing I do in the morning. By making the bed, you get the feeling that you have already accomplished one of the tasks of the day.

This will boost your mood and give you the morale you need to face the rest of day.

Drink Water

There are so many benefits of drinking a glass of water in the morning. It keeps you hydrated, cleanses toxins and wastes lying around in your system among others.

Drink a glass or two in the morning and continue drinking more during the day.

Personally, I love my class of water infused in lemon or berries because we all know the benefits of this combo!

Take A Healthy Breakfast

We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That’s why you should make it a habit to prepare and eat a healthy breakfast before tackling any task of the day.

Currently, I am enjoying these healthy smoothies for breakfast because they are easy to make and nutrient-packed too. Feel free to try them out too.

Read A Book

I find reading a book more helpful than indulging in meaningless social media scrolling. Reading a few pages in the morning will have you motivated, you gain new ideas and it improves your self esteem.

By setting aside 15-30 minutes daily, I have managed to read some great inspirational books that have been really helpful to me.

Do Something You Love

As a blogger, I find myself super creative in the morning that’s why I prefer to write my posts then. This allows me to  concentrate on other things during the day.

If you have something you love doing but you never get time to do it, try to create some time in the morning and you will definitely achieve it. 

Take A Shower

I know this might not seem important but it is. When working from home, taking a shower and dressing up is not a priority for most people.

However, apart from being fresh, showering in the morning reduces stress, improves blood circulation, cleans toxins among others.

Now, make it a habit to start your day by taking a shower.

Exercise

Working out is a great way to start the day. A morning routine doesn’t have to be complicated; you just need to get the blood pumping to boost your mood.

Also, you don’t need a gym. Here are a few easy workout routines you can enjoy in the comfort of your home.

  • Yoga
  • Morning run
  • Jumping jacks
  • Push-Ups
  • Wall sit
  • Crunches
  • Plank

Listen to Affirmations Or Motivational Podcast

Starting your day by listening to your favorite podcast or affirmations will boost your self-esteem all day long. If you don’t like affirmations or podcasts, take this time to meditate or give yourself a positive pep talk.

Also, you can listen to inspirational Ted talks, motivational audio books, you favorite music or anything that makes you happy.

You can incorporate this with your daily workout routine to save time.
